I’m in Boston at the ISA Marketing and Sales Symposium. Despite corporate travel restrictions there is a nice group of automation industry marketers looking for new ideas and networking. “Social media” generates the most interest. People are looking for tips, best practices and justifications for some of the technologies such as blogging, Twitter, YouTube and the like. I’ll be participating on a panel later this morning with Shari Worthington and Juliann Grant of Telesian Technology, Jon DiPietro who is President of the Boston ISA section, Catherine Derkosh of Siemens Energy & Automation, Brian Halligan of HubSpot and Walt Boyes of Control magazine. Should be a lively discussion.
Look for next year’s 5th annual session. I think they are looking at Chicago (I’ve been to Chicago, Cleveland and Boston ones) or other places. If you’d like to attend but couldn’t make the sites so far, write to me and suggest a venue. (I don’t think they liked Sidney, Ohio, but that’s life.) I’ll pass it along.
Gary, it was a great, lively session, with good backchannel conversations on the DImDim live feed from the event.
Kudos to everyone for allowing participation to those who couldn’t be there in person.
I will say, in person is much, much better, since you don’t get interrupted by phone and folks dropping by the office.
Thanks for a great session!
