Apologies to Shakespeare, but I bet you’ll find the same great group of people in Scottsdale today that you did last month even though the organization is now PI North America. Carl Henning has a post about the metamorphosis of the name here. Goes to show the difficulty of naming an organization around a technology then living with it as the technology evolves. From Profibus to Profinet–from Profibus Trade Organization to PTO and now to PI North America. In turn Profibus International (the main group) became PI, since it could be Profibus Intl. or Profinet Intl.
